When I was in college, I started noticing I would get really short when I got hungry.
My mom would complain of getting hypoglycemic at times, so one time when she was up to visit, I asked her about it. We were in the car with my then-boyfriend, on our way to dinner.
Me: Mom, what happens when you get hypoglycemic?
Mom: Well, first I get real mean…
Boyfriend: *tries to hide a snerk and fails*
I pretty much make sure I eat before anything now. Finding yourself in the middle of Target, 45 minutes into a shopping trip and realizing you suddenly are running on fumes and nothing you’re trying on fits is a fucking recipe for disaster.
I turn into a hateful demon when I’m hungry. It’s like PMS snappishness x1000.
